So the wildflower season has started here in Texas, but things are looking a little sparse this year. Unfortunately, around Houston the pickings are pretty slim. Usually there are some great spots around Independence inbetween Brenham and College Station, but as of a few weeks ago, zip.

Finally found a good spot around Memorial and 610 outside of Memorial Park, but it was hard not to get the highway in the background. Oh well, better luck next weekend! I heard from a reliable source that there are some good spots up around Chappell Hill.

Sadly, even the Botanical Garden was looking a little shabby in the flower department. Still, there were plenty of great trees, statuary, and bridges to keep two amateur photographers busy!

So… anyone know of any good wildflower sightings?
